Distribution at Delhaize
A look behind the scenes

Would you like to know how Delhaize manages to deliver your muesli, broccoli or wine to more than 800 stores all over the country every day? Then you are very welcome for a group visit to our distribution centre in Zellik.

If you know that Delhaize sells more than 28,000 products, you understand that logistics and distribution are big business for us. In order to supply our stores as freshly as possible, we are always looking for ways to make the in and out of our products even faster and more efficient. As a result, Delhaize is at the forefront of storage and distribution worldwide.

The visit is possible for groups from 5 to max. 25 people.

Practical information

• The tour takes about 2 hours.
• For groups from 5 to max. 25 persons, accompanying persons included.
• The minimum age is 15 years.
• You can book your tour via this site.
• The address is Broekooi Z-4 DC B in 1731 Asse-Zellik.
• We advise you to wear warm clothes: in our refrigerated distribution halls the temperature is around 2°C the year round.
• We recommend wearing flat, closed-toe shoes, i.e. no sandals or high heels. Do you have safety shoes with a steel tip? Feel free to bring them with you. If not, we provide safety overshoes to wear over your own shoes, so that you comply with the safety rules that we apply to our workplace.
• The tour is 1.5 km long, with several steps. Therefore, this visit is unfortunately not suitable for people with reduced mobility (walking sticks, crutches, wheelchairs, etc.).

Safety and hygiene

We ask all visitors to strictly abide by these rules:

• Always walk on the designated footpaths or pedestrian crossings.
• Wear the warm jacket that we put at your disposal, so that you are always clearly visible to drivers of (fork-lift) trucks.
• Wear the safety shoes or the safety overshoes we give you.
• Taking pictures in the buildings is not allowed.
• Eating, drinking, smoking or chewing gum are also not allowed.
• Always follow the instructions of the Delhaize guide.
